What we do
At Choice Solutions we spend time with you and offer one-on-one assistance to help you create the most robust Advance Healthcare Directive you would like to have for yourself.
We begin by supporting you in identifying the most appropriate person to be your agent or proxy as this person should honor, respect and follow your wishes and desires.
We work with you to tease out your wishes and desires should you become unable to speak for yourself. This can also include the type of treatments you would want, or not. We will also discuss organ donation.
If you are in need of creating an Advance Healthcare Directive for the first time or you are looking to do an update of your current one, we are here to help you create one that fully expresses your wishes and desires.
Who we are
Choice Solutions was created and founded by Kathy Choice, MSN, RN, NP, PHN, who has over 20 years of experience in acute and ambulatory care, hospital & nursing administration, retail and academic medicine, clinical nursing, medical primary care, health information technology, acute rehabilitation and education.
Ms. Choice remembers working at the bedside and giving patients a copy of an Advance Healthcare Directive (AHD) and telling them they needed to complete it. The vast majority of patients did not complete it and she didn’t have the time during her shift to help them fill it out. Years later her family and friends also needed help completing their AHD and that was when it became clear to her that a lot of people are in the same position because they are overwhelmed and need help with expressing what their personal wishes and desires truly are.
Ms. Choice is that an “outside” of the box thinker and a caring, passionate supporter of those she works with. This has been evident in her patience and ability to freely encourage, guide, and assist others with new processes to ensure high levels of understanding and productivity. She is adept at working with diverse populations and cultures, a communicator with superior interpersonal skills, a positive collaborator, a critical thinker and an analytical problem solver that believes in clear communication and is an accomplished public speaker.
Kathy graduated with her Bachelor in Science of Nursing (BSN) degree from the University of Southern California and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from California State University, Long Beach; she also has a Nurse Practitioner and Public Health Nurse Certificates.
